You need to take in more calories than you burn. You can do this healthily, by just adding an extra helping here and there of foods like cheese, apples, peanut butter, nuts, etc. Also snack a couple of times a day. Increasing your weight doesn't mean you have to eat unhealthy foods. Try to eat three medium / large meals a day, that should slow down your metabolism (eating five small meals a day does the opposite). Go for meats, breads, and pastas.
Also, another answer someone posted is right. Lift weights. It might seem weird to work out to gain weight, but lifting actually increases your muscle size and doesn't really do much to reduce fat. It's aerobic exercise that makes you lose weight. As long as you balance what you eat with lifting, you should start packing on *healthy* pounds in no time! Good luck.

In order for you to gain weight, you need to consume at least 3000 calories per day. This is best achieved through a combination of food and high-calorie supplement. You can continue to use Gainer's Fuel if you like although it is very expensive, or make your own high protein, high calorie drink for a fraction of the cost (see recipe below). Have a shake with your regular breakfast, and another one after your gym workout. Continue to have a good-size lunch and dinner with lots of starches, meat, vegetables & fruits. You also need to do weight training 3-4 times per week to increase muscle mass, this will help you gain weight along with the increased calorie intake.

Is there a reason you need to increase? Sports or is it to make you clothes fit better? Do you eat healthy? If you do just continue with a healthy diet. You may be one of those lucky people who will remain thin, no matter what you eat. Don't start eating junk food just to gain weight. Stick with healthy food, add pasta and high complex carbs to your diet. It may help, but try to be happy with your own self. Take Care.

If you are not able to increase your weight (no matter what you do), you should go see a doctor asap. You might have a tenia, for instance.

Tenia is a group of large worms some of which are parasitic in humans, basically, they make a home in your stomach. The main symptom of having one is you cant gain weight (or even lose it) no matter what you do. Go see a doctor please.

Its probably not the answer you were looking for , but you should see a doctor . One of my friends had the same problem , come to find out there was something wrong with his thyroid and some other issue too.

Eat lot of carbo hydrate foods, make ahabit of drinking 1/2 liter of milk with dates daily night before going to bed.

Eat and sleep but it will harm your health. So, follow a correct diet as recommended by a dietician and according to your diet do exercise regularly to keep you fit. Then your weight will be according to your height i.e., ideal weight.
