My bf, who is overseas, is coming to visit me last week of November. My period lately starts first week of every month. I;m not irregular in my cycle. Should I start taking pills first period of October? Or my first period in November? Does my body need an adjustment on that?

If you are taking combination contraceptive (as in pills that have both estrogen and progestin) your pill package leaflet will tell you what you need to know, it takes 7 days to reach full protection or 1 day if you start the first day of your period. For information about your specific pill, read the leaflet!

Start taking them on the first day of your next cycle. They take a whole month to work.

Different pills are slightly different, but for the most part they are effective after seven days (if taken properly of course).

No. you must take them for a full month, and have a period.
