Are the Gerber puffs everyone talks about good for first finger foods? Or is there something similiar for a 6 month old who has been eating solids for 2 mths now?

As a first time Mom, I was so nervous about finger foods and choking hazards. My daughter's Dr suggested the Gerber puffs because they dissolve really quickly and the chances of a baby choking on them are really small. My daughter loves them, although I have moved on to other finger foods since. She just turned 1.

Both of my daughters loved the Gerber Puffs. They were so great that my baby got them in her stocking last year for Christmas!

My daughter loved the puffs and I liked that they disolved very quickly in her mouth so I did not have to worry about her choking. I would just stick to the baby brands for snacks. But if I remember correctly a puffed rice cereal worked well at this age too.

The puffs are great, although they don't have much flavor..lol As soon as they are put into a baby's mouth...they melt which helps decrease their chance of choking. I also like cheerios as a first singer food, they are healthy and easy to pick up and eat.

It is my opinion that they are with the one exception that they kind of start to disolve when they get wet. If babies fingers are really wet when picking them up it might be a little messy, but that should be expected anyway regardless of what they eat at that age. My daughter really enjoyed eating all the varieties of puffs.

in the experience that your toddler sits up nicely on his/her own, eats thick-lumpy ingredients without problem, makes use of jaws to mash ingredients rather of attempting to swallow entire, and would use thumb and regularly happening finger to p.c.. the puffs up through themselves than they ought with the intention to devour them without problem. I gave my son Gerber puffs at about 6 mos. he's 15mos now and he nevertheless loves them! They dissolve very promptly contained in the toddler's mouth.

my son loved the puffs they disolve in the mouth so u don't have to worry about choking. the biter biscuts are way to messy and turn to cement when they dry so i don't advise them. cheerios are good for a child that is eating solids already.

they are good, however my baby can pick them up, but she can't get them from her fist to her mouth, the Gerber wagon wheels are the same thing but, they are big enough to gnaw on and hold at the same time!!
