stupid reality shows, trl. 60 million hip hop, pop and r&b singers who suck! Whatever happened to good music....... not that mtv even PLAYS music! Remember the show unplugged? Now that was a show w/singers w/talent. They weren't hiding behind digital enhancement and they didn't need the flashy costumes to distract from the vocals.

Yeah I do not like MTV either, out of the few 20 songs they play a day you might find 1 that is bearable, the others are just of freaking animals acting crazy to music.

MTV and VH1 are commercials, shortened versions of the movies made by the Beatles back in the late sixties. They are not meant to be the music. They are meant to make you want to hear the music. That is how the artists sell more tickets.
As for the shows, they have to put them on to boost ads to pay for the electicity used. Channels don't pay for themselves, and if they don't program some shows then they will have to go pay per view. You wouldn't like that now would you?
Take it easy and lay off the "sucks" and "blows". They only make people smart mouth you.

I remember when MTV played MUSIC! Even VH1 is now just all programs (not music), jam packed with commercials.
No, I'm far too old to be their target audience, but if they kept the old format and just updated the songs I think the kids would like it a lot more.

Yes it does now. There was a time it rocked. Years ago back in the 20th Century. In a Decade called the 80's. Yes they played music videos. All music all day and all night. That was their slogan back then. Everytime I surf past there is never a video on. Do they still play music videos?

I feel the same about all the music channels. I like CMT which almost never plays music. And they had something called crossroads you could find once in awhile. Kinda like the Unplugged

yeah i know what you mean, whats with all these shows like laguna beach, who wants to watch some rich kids, not even celebrities! talk about there great little happy lives, oh and then they go and cry and feel sorry for themselves! its such bullshit. i do still like MTV but the music isn't as good as it used to be.

Body ain't that the truth. try VH1 classics, they proably have what you are looking for. It is a tv channel that show classic videoss ie. 60's to 80's music.

Back in the 80's early to mid 90's it was cool. Now it sucks. Probably cuz we are gettin old!! I do like Pimp My Ride though!

Wow! What brand TV are you watching it on. I have a HD with surround sound, but no cool wind effects. Is that something I can pick up to ad to my system, or do I have to get a brand new unit?
