According to Yahoo news, we Brits spend 2 billion a year on white elephant gadgets we never use. What's your best example? I bought a digital microscope because it sounded cool, I used it for a couple of days and it's been collecting dust since!

i once bought a 20 foot inflatable king kong from a guy at a car boot sale because it was only £20. it lay in my garage for over 2 years. I eventually got a loan of a compressor to blow the damn thing up and hey it worked. as i stood back to savour the results of my labours a gust of wind blew it across the street and onto the road causing a council lorry to swerve and collide with my car causing £2500 worth of damage. also got a caution from the cops and wife nearly divorced me. im now barred from going to car boot sales on my own !!!

I ordered some Golliwog figures... questioning, from the outline they were little collectible figurines. I received paper cut back-out products of crap. A radio that only received static. unique, uncommon, actual 1939 ny Worlds honest products that were blatantly new reproductions, EBay has no longer been a sturdy element for me.
