If you are looking for a world without suffering, I am sorry.. you best look elsewhere.
Human nature seems to involve being really shitty to others, and unfortunately yes, the victims are often the innocent.
From the days we descended from the trees (or wherever you believe we came from) man has been making life miserable for other men over religion, land, money - you name it.
As to your own family, you don't know what will happen today, tomorrow or the day after, nothing is certain - ever. Hey, I could be hit by a bus this afternoon for all I know but I still cross roads - just carefully.
As a person though, you just have to deal with it, acknowledge it, feel bad about it, but don't let it take over your life, or you will spend all your days worrying and not living.

You have to understand and accept that there is evil in the world. Pray for the peace that God has, then get up off your butt feeling sorry about yourself and go volunteer at a hospital or a day care or somepleace where your presence in a child's life can make the difference. Like the old saying: You cannot save the world, just your little corner of it.

Stop watching the news so much. They purposely use these clips to invoke people's emotions. yes there will always be war, and what I do is say a prayer for them and meanwhile vote the bastards out of office next time. Send a letter to the media to air more positive stories, and watch the news less. Alot of times they make it seem worse than it is. My cousin was in Paris when they had riots or something and he said it was NOTHING compared to how the media portrayed it.
