my answer as got to be the sex pistols why well they are the only band to do emi out of a lot of money and some of there records are now collectors items,as for the subs they are the total wankers how come we dont hear about them now where as the sex pistols are always having there music played. i was in a music shop in scotland on saturday and they was playing the sex pistols the song was silly thing. I still say they was better than the subs.

Pistols wrote the main pages in Punk Rock history.
John(ny) Lydon / Rotten is my best character ever in PR & New Wave. Subs -- average IMO. When they switched to a more organized hard rock sound, Discharge, GBH, Conflict were so far better and hard playing, however 'Brand New Age' was their best LP. If you like the early Punk sound, there were a lot of great one-shoot-only bands, better than Pistols and Subs, in UK and USA as well. My fav early Punk song is 'Nobody's scared', Subway Sect...

AND NOW... POGO!!!!

The Subs for sure. Sex Pistols just missed the point.. plus they only had like a couple good songs in my opinion the rest was crap.

I liked the Pistols. The Subs are ok too. I learn't guitar by starting off playing warhead. I also supported The UK Subs in TJ's Newport with my band.

The sex pistols were the best by far.

The UK subs are still together, I saw them play this year with Marky Ramone. Maybe if they are judged by staying power then the UK subs should get the vote.

I'm an old fart - I remember the Pistols when they first came out.

Lots of bands sound like bands that were around before. Originality counts for something.

I was (and am) a big Clash fan, but a lot of their stuff was clearly inspired by the early Who.

The Pistols. they have been the epitome of punk. Knock out one blinding album and then self destruct in an exceedingly dramatic way. The Ramones have been ok in spite of the undeniable fact that the conflict have been given it somewhat incorrect. They tried to equivocate punk with a type conflict innovations-set and punk grew to become never approximately that on the commencing up up. Honourable mentions bypass to The ineffective Kennedys, X-Ray Spex and The Damned who i presented tickets for terribly final nighttime to make certain in December. should not be waiting to attend.

Without the Sex Pistols punk rock would never had been what it was then and now. They didnt want to go commercial it just happened. It led many to a music they may have never enjoed.
