Can you tell me what is this machine for???
If i use this machine do i get wireless signals stronger to my lap top...???

It's a router.

This is normally plugged into your broadband modem configured with a direct (wire) connection to a computer, and then you can connect to it via wireless. You need to have an internet connection to be able to connect to the internet.

Per the Linksys site, this is a wireless router. Assuming you have highspeed Internet coming into you home/business by either cable or DLS modem, you would hook the router to the modem and it would broadcast a wireless signal. If your laptop has a wireless card in it, it would be able to hook to the Internet using that signal. It has a limit of about 150ft/50ms.
