They appear, bug the hell of you then disappear....whats it all about?

I HATE those things more than anything in the world, they serve no purpose whatsoever.
When I am Queen of the Universe I shall obliterate their entire existence!! x

You could ask the same question of hamsters or guinea pigs surely? Jeez, i dont understand why people get so upset by them, there are a lot worse creatures out there, they dont bite, they dont sting, they dont leave slime wherever they go, on the whole, theyre not a nuisance, they only really appear for 2 weeks, and moths which are very similar are around all year long! The "purpose" of them is for the food chain (bottom of obviously) they are male and female so there are mummy long legs to, just consider this, birds eat them to stock up before the big emigration south for the winter (not long after september) if they didnt exist birds would go hungry and we'd have a big ol gap in the eco system! just remember EVERYTHING serves a purpose, with the exception of us humans who are not so slowly killing off the planet for our own selfish gains, rant over.. thank you and goodnight!

You could ask the same question about any creature . The question is posed in relation to you . Why ? " they bug the hell out of you then disappear " that statement could be made of some people .

It is a mere creature that God created. They would never harm you. If ever I find a small creature in my house such as a Daddy Long Legs, I pick it up and put it outside. I could never harm anything. Look after your bugs.... and your bugs will look after you! x

to scare the pants off my little girl apprently. Fortunatley I think they only live for a very short time(even when they are not being squshed by my slipper) something like 2/3 days to a week, could be wrong so dont quote me on that.

now we need to know if you are referring to the spider-like daddy long legs or the one that looks like a giant mosquito.
neither one will hurt you, by the way. they were the only 'spider' i wasn't petrified of for a good part of my life.
if it's the spider like one, they eat bugs and don't make huge nasty webs so they are kind of nice to have around. the others are pretty, imo... it's like a butterfly flying around.

I have a phobia of these!! I never have any windows open when i have a light on because they all come in!!!!
They scare me so much that i end up screaming like a 5 year old!!!
