If you are not happy it is because you are thinking wrongly.
If you can think it one way that makes you miserable, you can just as easily think it some other way that would make you happy.
It's a choice that we make every day.

I don't think happiness is a right. I think it is a natural consequence that comes from making good choices. The human right is that people have the choice to be happy or miserable.

That is an interesting question. The constitution says we have the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. So, it is the pursuit of it that is our right, rather than happiness itself. After all, someone can have alot of wonderful toys and a big house and still be unhappy for other reasons. Happiness is more of a state of mind you can sometimes will yourself into. I can think about all the good memories and nice things in my life and be happy. Or I can think about what pisses me off in my life, and difficult people I have to be around and make myself miserable if I dwell on it.

the human right is to pursue happiness. happiness is a relative term as what makes you happy may not make me happy. if what makes me happy infringes upon your rights then happiness shouldn't be achieved. would say as long as a person can achieve happiness without hurting the rights of others this is the goal.

I agree with the first answer, but also feel that only the simple minded can achieve it. How can anyone be happy in this world? It's going to the dogs. Maybe i think about things too much, but with all the messed up things that happen how can anyone be happy? even if nothing bad ever happens to them, how can they be happy knowing it's happening to others?

It's a human right to make your own decisions, including how you feel every day. My choice is generally to be happy.

it's a human right to pursue happiness as long as it doesn't interfere with any others' same right. but some people will never be happy.

Rights are a civil matter, not necessarily a religious matter. Here in the US we have the right to pursue happiness ("life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness"), but happiness itself is not a right since it is an internal matter.

Absolutely NOT: some people are quite happy to be doing bad things to others. In nature, there are very few, if any, rights. Governments decide and enforce rights, or not.
