Hi, I just read your post.
You have two problems, one is the habit forming behavior of doing it inside in a safe environment and on litter and the other is marking her home ground.

The first step to solve this problem is try to understand her. She is a small creature in the world and while going to the toilet is vunrable to attack. Put her litter box by the back door inside the house at first and get her used to the move of the box then put it outside the back door get an inclosed box so that she can go inside it and feel safe to do her business. Might be an idea to get it before the first move to the back door so she can get used to using it. The soil idea is a good idea but i would not suggest it until you have got her to use the box outside or you will have a hell of a mess to clean up.

If she feels that she is not safe or too far from the house she will still go inside.

Once you have got her to use it outside move it away from the house and see what happens then take the lid off of it and see. Then just make a pile of soil where the litter box was. Then hopefully you will have cured her of this. If in the mean time she is doing it inside unwantedly put her food and water on the spot where she went this shoud discourage her as they wont like to eat from there litter area. Also dont use cleaning fluids to clean the smell inside as they will contain smells similar to pheramons and may attract her again. Try washing up liquid it brakes down biological waste without a smell to cover it.

Hope this helps. Slowly and with patients like a small child she can be helped to do what you ask.

Hi, it could be that something is stressing her out outside and she is unhappy at going out to wee, she may think it leaves her vunerable when she is squatting. Try adding soil to her tray along with her normal litter and leave a second one with exactly the same in, in a secure safe location outside. It may help her feel better going outside. If not then take her to get checked out at the vets as there could be an underlying problem i:e a slight water infection.
Best of luck

Each day move the litter tray a foot towards the door until you finally get it out side but make sure each time you move it that she goes to the toilet in it
Good luck

Try adding soil to your tray so she gets used to the feel of outdoors. Then move the litter tray near the back door, then start placing it just outside the back door. Once she is used to that , get rid of it.

Ive heard (not tried it myself) that if you change the litter to soil (ie put soil in the litter tray) that it will get her used to doing her business in the soil rather than litter?

this might sound bad but it works big time, ive got 3 cats, all 3 go out the house to use the toilet if you know what i mean,

this isnt my way of solving it but my mums, its harsh and rough but it works,

next time she wee's or poo's in the house pick her up, walk towards her mess and put her nose in it, i know its bad but it works, even if she struggles force her to it, because doing that once or twice she'll learn the house aint the toilet,

i guarentee it'll work, i know its harsh but it does, plus the cat will respect you and the house fully from couple of experiences with its nose in its own c**p.
