system restore uses about 12% of a drive
and this means it will proberly create 5 restore points which are generated approx every 40 hours
when you system creates a 6 th restore point the oldest restore point is removed.
plus it depends on the size of the restore point / also the amount of times you add/remove programes update windows
system restore works best if you partition your drive into 2 or more parts,and restrict system restore to drive c:

Hello dear
Win XP delete old safe point automatically so you can go to those point . If you want to go to older point install GO BACK software symantec production .
