Rape is a common thing in ANY prison.
The prisoners know who to bribe and what they can get away with when whomever is on duty.
Security cameras are mostly on the common areas, like the exercise yard, the visiting rooms, the lunch rooms and down the hallways, they don't usually point directly into a cell.

This is just a guess as I have never been to prison. But I am guessing that prisoners who have not had sex or even seen a women for years will start to go a bit doo lally in the brain and MAY start to think about having sex with persons of the same sex as it is very unhealthy for a guy not to have sex,it is a basic human drive. So my guess is.... Be very careful when picking up the soap in the shower while in prison.

Yes unfortunately this goes on in Australian prisons as well. It can be used as a form of bullying amongst inmates. Cameras aren't really there to protect the prisoners, just the screws.

I'm sure it's the fear of being raped that keeps some people on the straight and narrow! Surely more terrifying than prison itself. Maybe we should encourage it as an urban myth.

Male rape tends to go unoticed and in prison its more of a whose top dog situation (i think) where guys use rape to show others who is boss in there!
No one really ever reports male rape as they think it makes them feel less of a man!
