There is a lovely site called Sleningford Water Mill just outside Ripon in North Yorkshire. A shallow river runs through it, so you can paddle safely (or even canoe if you're so inclined). The facilities are good and clean, the people who run it are very friendly and welcoming, and there is a shop on site too. Nearby there is lots to do:
beautiful countryside for walking etc
Flamingo Land theme park
Fountains Abbey (beautiful ruin)
An ice cream farm with hundreds of delicious homemade flavours
Ripon is a pretty, quaint sort of place to visit.

I spent many an excellent weekend there with my mum and sisters as a child and would reccommend it to anyone!

Enjoy yourselves where ever you go!

Well can't help you with the U.K. In the states the best place that I have been camping is Louis lake in the south pass area of the state of Wyoming. That is God's country in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. Lost Lake at the base of Mt. Hood in the state of Oregon is pretty spectacular too. Invest in an RV trip to the states and camp for the summer, there are thousands and thousands of miles of places to camp out!!

Patagonia in Chile by Lake Pehou with the Torres del Paine Massif in the background; fresh air, hot weather, amazing views, great company, ticked all the boxes for a camping holiday.

A little closer to home, the French Alps are great for camping too. Even closer, you can't beat the Lakes.

Try woodyhide campsite near Corfe in Dorset. Once you get there leave the modern world behind. There are fantastic walks to excellent pubs, and when nightlife calls you can walk two fields to a branchline halt and pick up a steam train into Swanage. The place is excellent.
