It's a bit of both. there are times when my instincts tell me one thing but by my free will I choose to ignore them and do something else and then there are times I give into my human instincts and do what I want.
example= somebody hits me, my instinct is to hit back but my free will is to not take any action. I stop myself from swinging.

People's behavior is determined by God's direction. Just like the direction that God gave to you to keep asking such questions repeatedly. The thing that impulse you to ask such questions is neither your free-will (because you can't choose) nor your human instinct (because you don't know really know why you asked).

Not the result of a free will, but of a human will which only allows man to behave according to his nature which is evil apart from the interruption of a holy God.

It depends on the behavior.........

It depends on the intent..........

I am reminded of the Triune Brain Theory which includes the instinctual, mammalian, & cerebral cortex of the brain. We humans respond at the lowest level of evolution first, i.e. instinctual, then there is the caring aspect of the human, i.e. mammalian; and finally free choice comes from utilizing one's cerebral cortex.

Humans are complicated; not simple!

man does everything by understanding it.

in the absence of understanding - he operates by beliefs.

man has free-will. so he can form beliefs which are incorrect - or not in accordance with order of existence. the order of existence is co-existence.

by understanding order of existence - his free-will gets satisfied.

with satisfied free-will - his behaviour becomes in alignment of order of existence (which is coexistence).

behaviour aligned with co-existence only can give happiness in human relationships.

happiness in relationships is desired by every human.
