eat about 10 dark Bing cherries... there's a compound in them that's a natural pain killer... but the best thing to do is to pay a professional massage therapist to give you at least a 30 minute upper body massage (make sure to tell them that you have a headache and you want them to focus on your upper back, head, neck and shoulders).. most headaches are caused by unconsciously tensing your muscles in these areas (yes you have plenty of muscles on your head)... when these areas are released (a professional Licensed Massage Therapist knows all of the trigger points and muscles that need to be released so just having a friend give you a massage probably won't do the job) your headache disappears... this is better than medication because it actually fixes the problem temporarily... The only way to permanently fix tension headaches is to pay attention to your body and make sure to relax your muscles when your stressed... There is also a trigger point between your pointer finger and thumb deep in the muscle that can be compressed for a bit (you'll need to do it with enough pressure that there's a little discomfort) and it can ease a headache... but from my experience the massage really is the best way

Chronic tension headaches can come from an overload of stress or from being fatigued, but more often they come from physical problems, from psychological and emotional issues, or from depression. It may be worth nipping to your doctor if this is an ongoing problem.
Try some Acupressure
1. With one hand, press the shallow indention in the back of the head at the base of the skull.
2. Simultaneously, with the thumb and forefinger of the other hand, press firmly into the upper hollow of the eye socket, right where they straddle the bridge of the nose and meet the “t” of the eyebrow bridge. Press softy at first, then more firmly and hold.
Administer for three to five minutes (for an average headache). Repeat as needed throughout the day.
Wearing a magnet necklace really works for headaches I would of never believed it if I had not tried it myself. You can find them at your health food store
Rosemary, lavender, and chamomile are other essential oils that may also help ease your headaches. For quick comfort, gently rub one drop of oil on the place where it hurts the most. The essence of the herb is very concentrated, so even though it seems like a small amount, one drop should be enough.

I have never really suffered from headaches and all I do is rub my eyes every so often when I am reading (as headaches are related to eye strain) and if the eyeball is hot (believe me it can get HOT and without you realizing........
I will simply rub it some more and tears usually come to help cool it. This method will also protect your eye sight. I have have always had got eye sight and swear it is how you treat your eyes. Look away on occasion; roll them up and down...... notice how GOOD that feels? That's nature telling you something.

i got an email from friend said that:
As said by the doctor that whenever we have a headache, that's because it is
due
to the electron/Ion imbalance in the brain. As an alternative solution to
cope
with this matter, they
suggested that we buy 1 or 2 cans of isotonic drink ( eg.100PLUS), and mix
it
with drinking water according to a ratio of 1:1 or 1:2 (simply, it means one
cup
100plus, one cup water.or 2 cups water).
Me and my husband have tried this on several occasions, and it seems to work
well.
Another method will be to submerge your feet in a basin of warm water so
that it
bring the blood pressure down from your throbbing head.
or
i asked someone few days ago about this issue..she said:
Also put a cool/cold cloth on your forehead. It may not cure it but it should give you some relief from the severity of the pain
goodluck~

I was told once that you can get headaches throuhg dehydration. So the first thing I do when I get one is take a couple of glasses of water. Sometimes it actually works, but other times it doesn't.
But it's worth a try.

I keep a bag of frozen peas in the freezer, wrapped in a tea towel so no one mistakenly eats them, and when a headache hits me, I just place that bag of frozen peas against my head where it's throbbing. Because the peas are small, the bag nicely conforms to the shape of your head where it hurts. Be sure to wrap the frozen bag in a tea towel though because without it you might find the coldness too intense. I hope this suggestion helps bring you a bit of relief; it certainly works nicely for me.

Potassium helps a lot, a lot of times the headache is caused by a lack of it so you can take a potassium tablet (or eat a banana) which should help. Somebody who does Reiki can also help you. Otherwise I would buy that 4Head lotion from a pharmacy.
