Why is there such a thing as a life sentence? I mean, the end result is that the person who commited that crime is gonna die in jail right? So, what's the point? I mean we have to pay all that money to keep that person alive, in a life confined to a prison? It would be far more cost effective if that person was just sentenced to death.
Ok, sure i understand there may be cases in which the person was framed, etc., etc.., but realistically, that proabably only happens like 5% of the time, now a days.
So my question is, wouldn't it just be more reasonable, at least monitarily to sentence that person to death? What are your views on this?
(FYI: Texas is my home state.)

let me ask you a question, if you had to sacrifice the lives of 100,000 people to save potentially up to 500,000 people would you?
Case in point, do you know how much money it costs for those 100,000 people to be in the prison system? And of that money, do you realize how many other lives could have been saved? IE. (food for starving people, medical, etc...)
Now, im not saying that these 100,000 people are innocent, im saying they are guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, (even admitted to murder, etc.) Would you still keep them alive in prison, with a life sentence? or use that money to help other people who did not commit any crime?
