Why is there such a thing as a life sentence? I mean, the end result is that the person who commited that crime is gonna die in jail right? So, what's the point? I mean we have to pay all that money to keep that person alive, in a life confined to a prison? It would be far more cost effective if that person was just sentenced to death.

Ok, sure i understand there may be cases in which the person was framed, etc., etc.., but realistically, that proabably only happens like 5% of the time, now a days.

So my question is, wouldn't it just be more reasonable, at least monitarily to sentence that person to death? What are your views on this?

(FYI: Texas is my home state.)

To: God Save America.
let me ask you a question, if you had to sacrifice the lives of 100,000 people to save potentially up to 500,000 people would you?

Case in point, do you know how much money it costs for those 100,000 people to be in the prison system? And of that money, do you realize how many other lives could have been saved? IE. (food for starving people, medical, etc...)

Now, im not saying that these 100,000 people are innocent, im saying they are guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, (even admitted to murder, etc.) Would you still keep them alive in prison, with a life sentence? or use that money to help other people who did not commit any crime?

Well, of course it would be more "cost effective" to strap them into a chair or send some juice through their veins. The Nazis spent years trying to determine the easiest and most cost effective way to exterminate people. They tried gassing, mass shootings, slitting their throats. But in the end they found that a simple canister of Zyclon B could kill up to a hundred Jews for less than the equivalent of $15.00 modern US.

So, you are correct. Keeping them alive is more expensive. Life is really just a big waste of taxpayers dollars. Why don't we take out some crackheads and whores while were at it.

(FYI: You didn't need to tell me you were from Texas. I already knew that)

Boy you must really be an a.s.s.h.o.l.e. You say that only 5% of people are framed and innocent.

So there are 2 million people in prison what you are telling me is that 100,000 of them are falsely imprisoned.

That sounds like an acceptible number to me.

Hopefully you can become one of them that is wrongly accused. Then you'll know what's the big deal.

There were cops in Chicago that used to take tape and put it on the innocent persons soda can and lift the tape off and then say that he found it at the scene of the murder.

This way the police officer could prove by scientific evidence beyond any reasonable doubt that the innocent person was at the murder scene and put the innocent person on death row.

The cop who put 11 innocent men on death row only got six months in prison for trying to kill 11 innocent men.

Karma, Karma, Karma, Karma.

You better watch out what you say brother.

I think they should go ahead and put them to death if the facts are secured in their crimes. I think tax payers waste more money on taking care of these people as it is. If you ask me it would be cheaper to smack with a hammer than it would be to pay for lethal injection! Like I said...if it were an obvious secured crime that there was no question in conviction.

Life sentence is proper because it is a punishment for a heinous crime.
