hey... now i dont know.. her condition but i think it might be supraventricular tachycardia (SVT) is an abnormal fast heart rhythm that starts in the upper chambers, or the atria, of the heart. Normally, the heart's electrical system precisely controls the rhythm and rate at which the heart beats. In supraventricular tachycardia, abnormal electrical connections (or abnormal firing of the connections) cause the heart to beat too fast. Typically, during supraventricular tachycardia episodes, the heart speeds up to rates of 150 to 200 beats per minute and occasionally as high as 300. After some time, the heart returns to a normal rate (60 to 100 beats per minute) on its own or after treatment.
Now i think she needs to see her physician ( a cardiologist would be better). he well issue meds.. and maybe even change her diet... some of this heart disease are cause of the intake of to much fatty acids found in are foods.... well i hope that helps a little keep me posted if you wish ...... crystal..:-)

Your mum, depending on weather or not she has had this before or this being the first time could have a medical cause or an outside antagonist. A new med perhaps as a weight loss med will do the job better than anything, so will caffeine, or anxiety. There are a lot of medical conditions that will get the old ticker on the fast track such as high or low blood pressure arrhythmia's or other heart disorders. Don't worry she could have been in heart failure when the paramedics got there. They will find what is wrong quickly.

It is called Arrhythmias-see details. If you had given some more details I could have advised you better. Any way what the hospital authorities (Cardiologist) said ? They would have suggested some medication and and advise. please follow it strictly and she will be alright. Also have regular check up by a cardiologist.
Arrhythmias are disorders of the regular rhythmic beating of the heart. They're common — as many as 2.2 million Americans are living with atrial fibrillation (one type of rhythm problem). Arrhythmias can occur in a healthy heart and be of minimal consequence. They also may indicate a serious problem and lead to heart disease, stroke or sudden cardiac death. The goal of this site is to help the public and health care professionals learn more about arrhythmias, and ultimately reduce disability and death from heart disease and stroke. Do your part by learning the facts and taking the steps needed to understand and control arrhythmias.
I am a patient of Arrhthmias.

She could be having heart problems, be dehydrated or under a lot of stress. Anxiety attacks can also cause this problem. Often people go to the hospital thinking that there is something physically wrong with them when they are having an anxiety attack. I'm not a doctor and even if I was I couldn't diagnose over the net. They'll figure out what's wrong with your mom soon and hopefully she's okay!
