My friend, it's no use to reason with the Muslims. They have been heavily brainwashed to believe Islam is peace and love even in the midst of war and terror.
Their alternatives to painful truths are simple - anything that's negative to Islam is not true. Only positive things to Islam is true.

In angle you look at the "Quran" and no matter what the muslims say on the translation and this and that, the way they try to cover up the meanings, Quran really contradicts itself and lets face the facts, muhammed isnt going to come back on this earth and say I am sorry I think I got the Quran incorrect, it would be funny and see the faces of 1 billion muslims!
And yes again there is no use to teach them the right thing...they have been brainwashed and its good to see them being lead to the wrong path
And people who say thats not right to pick a verse out of the Quran there are others to teach peace, get a life, no such things should be written in a holy book and of course it contradicts!
The evidence is there....the Quran!

funny how people try to justify their evil inclinations by inventing a vicious minded godlet to back them up. Remember always that man made god in his own image - a brutal tyrant. sounds just like the big M doesn't it.
BtW - the word "terror" is in all the versions I can locate. Presumably one of the answers means that the book was read in it's original language - early arabic. He/she must realise that the majority of the world/s population neither understand nor want to understand such a primitive language. I suggest that the real reason for this anomaly is that the mohomedans are currently trying to rewrite history and the translations of the koran in order to obscure their efforts at world domination and tyranny.
some of it reads like another holy book I once read:
"Build ye an island and dung it about with enginery of war......"
similar thinking maybe.

It is extremely unfair to judge an entire religion out of context from its Holy book You can’t pick out a few lines randomly and comment on the followers. Have you taken the trouble to go through the entire Quran…
Unless we’re expert theologians, our loose comments will only infuriate (and rightly so) the followers of that religion. It’d be more prudent to avoid derogatory remarks or find fault in anyone’s religion – be it Chrisitian, Muslim or Jew. To each his/her own.

why you cut and past verses from its context in verse no 8:60 do you know what was its completation ( 60. And make ready against them all you can of power, including steeds of war (tanks, planes, missiles, artillery, etc.) to threaten the enemy of Allâh and your enemy, and others besides whom, you may not know but whom Allâh does know. And whatever you shall spend in the Cause of Allâh shall be repaid unto you, and you shall not be treated unjustly.
61. But if they incline to peace, you also incline to it, and (put your) trust in Allâh. Verily, He is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower )
there is something else in the verse it say be prepared ok ,not kill but be prepared to protect yourseleves
for example usa invade iraq ( kill thousanda of civilians ) only cuz they fear terrorist to attack them so they terrorized iraqis and destroyed their lives as procuations
you either dont understand quran or try to mislead ppl
did you know this verse ( 6. Certainly, there has been in them an excellent example for you to follow, for those who look forward to (the Meeting with) Allâh (for the reward from Him) and the Last Day. And whosoever turn away, then verily, Allâh is Rich (Free of all wants), Worthy of all Praise.
7. Perhaps Allâh will make friendship between you and those whom you hold as enemies. And Allâh has power (over all things), and Allâh is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
8. Allâh does not forbid you to deal justly and kindly with those who fought not against you on account of religion and did not drive you out of your homes. Verily, Allâh loves those who deal with equity)chapter 60
i read your questions and i found out how much you try to make islam seems to be violence .

what does this mean in the bible?
"When the Lord your God brings you into the land you are entering to possess and drives out before you may nations...then you must destroy them totally. Make no treaty with them and show them no mercy." Deuteronomy 7:1-2, NIV. 1
"...do not leave alive anything that breaths. Completely destroy them...as the Lord your God has commanded you..." Deuteronomy 20:16, NIV.
Religious intolerance in the Hebrew Scriptures (Old Testament)
*Instruction to murder persons of other faiths: Any person who performs religious rituals to other than Jehovah was to be executed.
Exodus 22:20 "He that sacrificeth unto any god, save unto the LORD only, he shall be utterly destroyed."
*A call to God to destroy persons of other faiths:
Psalms 79:6: "Pour out thy wrath upon the heathen that have not known thee, and upon the kingdoms that have not called upon thy name."
*Instruction to murder religious leaders of other faiths: Religious prophets or soothsayers of other faiths are to be ignored and exterminated.
Deuteronomy 13:1-5 "If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder, And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them...And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death...So shalt thou put the evil away from the midst of thee."

Quran advocates fighting only for self defense. First verse in Quran that states fighting is
"2:190. And fight in the way of Allah with those who fight with you, and do not exceed the limits, surely Allah does not love those who exceed the limits. "
If you study the life of Prophet Mohammed, you can see, he was only preaching the revelation which he received and it was those who opposed to his message that turned violent towards him. So he first practiced maximum restraint when he and his followers were abused and attacked in Meccah. Then finally when the torture became unbearable they left their town and migrated towards medina. When the enemy in mecca followed the prophet in Medina with a large army, the first war in Islam known as Bedr took place.
if you search whole Quran you can find only fighting prescribed only for self defence. Some people quote verse from the middle to show that Quran prescribes killing all unbelivers. One most quoted verse is
" 9: 5. So when the sacred months have passed away, then slay the idolaters wherever you find them, and take them captives and besiege them and lie in wait for them in every ambush,"
Without quoting the context and the verses below and above a neutral reader will judge Quran is commanding to kill all idolaters. But it's context is only regarding a particular group of idolaters who made an agreement with Muslims and later conspired against them breaking the treaty. This is clear from the preceeding verse
" 9: 4. Except those of the idolaters with whom you made an agreement, then they have not failed you in anything and have not backed up any one against you, so fulfill their agreement to the end of their term; surely Allah loves those who are careful (of their duty)."
Eventhough fighting is allowed for selfdefence, patience and peace is given importance
"And if you take your turn, then retaliate with the like of that with which you were afflicted; but if you are patient, it will certainly be best for those who are patient. " Quran 16:126.
"And not alike are the good and the evil. Repel (evil) with what is best, when lo! he between whom and you was enmity would be as if he were a warm friend.
And no one will be granted such goodness except those who exercise patience and self-restraint,- none but persons of the greatest good fortune. Quran 41: 34-35.
See what Quran says how to deal with those who are not fighting with you
"60: 8. Allah does not forbid you respecting those who have not made war against you on account of (your) religion, and have not driven you forth from your homes, that you show them kindness and deal with them justly; surely Allah loves the doers of justice."
See this verse, on how war is discouraged
"Every time they kindle the fire of war, Allah doth extinguish it; but they (ever) strive to do mischief on earth. And Allah loveth not those who do mischief. " Quran 5: 64

It might help to read the verses that are not there, like the ones before and after as well as the verses themselves. To just pick a verse and not read the whole section is just silly.

some verses about the place of the Jews and Christians in Islam
"And there are, certainly, among the People of the Book [Jews and Christians], those who believe in God, in the revelation to you, and in the revelation to them, bowing in humility to God: They will not sell the Signs of God for a miserable gain! For them is a reward with their Lord, and God is swift in account. (The Noble Quran, 3:199)"
"Not all of them are alike: Of the People of the Book [Jews and Christians] are a portion that stand (For the right): They rehearse the Signs of God all night long, and they prostrate themselves in adoration. They believe in God and the Last Day; they enjoin what is right, and forbid what is wrong; and they hasten (in emulation) in (all) good works: They are in the ranks of the righteous. (The Noble Quran, 3:113-114)"
"Those who believe (in the Quran), and those who follow the Jewish (scriptures), and the Christians and the Sabians,- any who believe in God and the Last Day, and work righteousness, shall have their reward with their Lord; on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve. (The Noble Quran, 2:62)"
"Nay,-whoever submits His whole self to God and is a doer of good,- He will get his reward with his Lord; on such shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve. (The Noble Quran, 2:112)"
"Those who believe, and do deeds of righteousness, and establish regular prayers and regular charity, will have their reward with their Lord: on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve. (The Noble Quran, 2:277)"
"Strongest among men in enmity to the believers [Muslims] wilt thou find the Jews and Pagans; and nearest among them in love to the believers wilt thou find those who say, 'We are Christians': because amongst these are men devoted to learning and men who have renounced the world, and they are not arrogant. (The Noble Quran,
Verses about killing in Quran are when muslims defend themselves against the attacks.
By the way, this is very poor translation of the verses of the holy quran, there is no word terror in the quran.
