I think you were very un-wise to part with the car before you got all the money...any agreement should have been sorted before you parted with the car...I hope you get the rest of you cash but you have put yourself in a vulnerable position.

That depends on the contract you had with that person...You did have some kind of contract right? If not than you are 'screwed' Do you still have the tittle, if so than it's not theirs until you sign it over and you have some leverage....

You should have done a legal contract. + had it signed by a notary. I would want the rest of my money in 2 weeks

FIRST OFF IM GUESSING U HAVE THE TITLE, AND YOUR TAGS ON IT....IF HE WREAKS IT , IT COMES OFF YOUR INSURANCE....IF HE GAVE U HALF, AND U TOOK YOUR CAR TAGS OFF AND SIGN THE TITLE OVER....UNLESS U KNOW HIM WELL, GIVE HIM A WEEK OF HIS PICK UP DATE....IF HE IS A STRANGER TO U....U WILL HAVE A TIME GETTING THE OTHER HALF.....HE SCAMMED YA, IVE SEEN IT HAPPEN....I TRUST THINGS WORKS OUT FOR YA....DO WHAT U NEED TO DO, POLICE REPORT ECT......

If you didn't agree to a set time period you may have a problem that won't be easy to fix. If you really are worried talk to an attorney to see what can be done.
