On yahoo instant messenger, how can you tell if someone blocked you or they're just ignoring you?

you can't just ask other people if that certain person is online

go to options/advanced
click on IM
if box is checked they are blocking u if box is shaded they are ignoring u

Either way they apparently don't want to IM you.
