Its no good saying we were never like that with our parents cos I know we must've been...just a little less shocking in our primative youth! What is it that makes you want to wring his neck? Moods? untidiness? laziness? attitude?total apathy? and I just know you are going YES to everyone, right? Make sure there is no underlying problem for your sons behaviour....school (if he attends!)...drugs etc and if you can find no underlying problem...then the answer is clear HE'S A TEENAGER......what does he like to do (apart from drive you mad?) Try the no reaction routine, cos any reaction is attention! Dunno what to suggest, you just have to go with it and wait for the light at the end of the tunnel.sorry hun Good luck

I felt like you. I gave no pocket money, I didn't top up her mobile phone, she was grounded and I also stopped her from using the house phone.
I now have a great daughter because she knows if she doesn't tow the line all her privileges are taken from her.

OH geesh I feel your pain!!

Take a big deep breath, walk out of the area he/she is in. Get control of yourself. Go back, always remember it is your house not the teenagers house!
Of course teenagers think everything is theres and most not all but most think we owe them something.
Have two teenagers at the present time, no wonder my hair is going gray!!

Spend time with him and discuss it. Find out what the issue is, attention, drugs, friends, school and go from there.

Get someone else to do it! therefore no blame on you then. 8)

seriously you need to sit down with them and try to make peace. get there reasons why they are playing up and explain you need to be able to trust them to be sensible etc...

worst thing to do is continue shouting at them. only makes it worse.

alternatives to ringing his/her neck...plenty of those...the belt, the slipper, a poker, anything with a sharp edge (but only if they've been REALLY naughty or this could be classed as child abuse, if they've been really bad, it's ok), horse whip, a noose......

If I were you I'd just go with your first instinct. Wring their neck. They probably deserve it
