depends on how curly your hair is. if you have hair that has a natural tendency towards dreading, then it may be possible (although i'd suggest waiting a bit longer). straighter hair needs to be longer.
i used knotty boy dread wax when i dreaded my hair, and it worked like a charm at around two inches. check out their website. they have excellent products for dreadlocks--i highly recommend their dread shampoo! i'd have been lost without it!

I don't think it's long enough right now. Be patient about dreading your hair - let it grow a bit longer, it will turn out better.

Sure you can......just depends on if you have any chemicals in your hair. If you do, cut your hair completely down and let it regrow back out again. If you're all natural, it's long enough to begin the process.

As long as it is long enough to wrap around your finger to start twisting.If it is a little longer definitely.I had them years ago and cut them.I'm thinking about doing it again.I think they are beautiful as long as they are kept neat and clean.Good luck with that.
