My mobile phone operator T-Mobile informed me that I was upgrading to the latest Blackberry handset and the next version wouldn;t be available for a year. So I upgraded to the 'latest' version. Three weeks later and a new version is due out! I feel i've been mis-informed and they should swap over the phone for the latest one. I'm out of the 7 days 'cooling off' period so they say its hard luck. I suppose its like buying the latest car only to find a newer version is due in 3 weeks and you weren't told about it just so they could get the sale! Can I do anything?

Well i've looked into the options for this, theres no way I can end the contract early unless I want to pay the outstanding amount (i.e 12 months line rental), I can't send the handset back and refuse to pay becuase of the 'Distance Selling Regulations' which is a crap policy that the government has drawn up to supposedly protect the consumer. So i'm stuck with the handset and 12 months contract unless theres some kind of loop hole someone knows.

I don't think you can do much about it. They seem to hold all the cards.
Last year I travelled abroad and had my phone put on to international roaming. They informed me that if I received any calls from UK I would have to pay and I accepted this.

However they did not tell me that any local calls I made whilst abroad would be charged as if made from UK.

I ended up with a bill for £400 after 3 weeks and they just told me there was nothing to be done about it

Write to watchdog you might not be the only one they palmed of with old stock, and send T-mobile a copy.

Change networks, sell your device and get the latest one on the new contract and tell T-mobile to stick it.

Good luck
