No. We're only to live this life once so it's our responsibility to make it right. A clean break is the best. And even if it hurts like hell and you feel like **** for few weeks, you'll be happy and proud of yourself for being strong and doing what's in your power to make things right. If a girl says she'd rather stay friends with you, she has no love for you. Knowing you got some (a lot) for her and giving you such a lousy answer, she probably (even unconsciously) just need you around for comfort or/and company when she needs it but is more thinking that there's better out there than you.

Drop it. Everything in life happens for a reason and love my just as well come knocking to your door a lot faster than you think - the only thing you have to remember is that keeping your mind on someone else, turning it into an obsession, will only blind you for the next person to come along who might be just craving to give YOU what you really need and deserve....

Stay cool, respect life and love yourself and all will be just fine!

I think you are basically answering your own question. Yes, I do think you should stay on as a sincere friend...it's why you cared so much about her that you proposed to her. It must have been very difficult to have been refused marriage...but to lose her completely as a friend would be just as difficult. If you cared so much to have asked her? then I think you could remain good solid friends. And this thing about waiting??? I wouldn't wait...I would look at it as someone that you've come to know and would just like to be part of their lives. If there is a chance down the road...go for it...it not, there are plenty of people out there waiting to meet someone like you!....Good Luck

yeah why not, if you really like her stay with her as a friend, girls change their mind anyway. Although you shouldn't act as you are her boyfriend in front of people (we hate this). Heya but also know that by being her friend she might hurt you by mentioning other guys and so on so be prepared.

My boyfriend waited 5 months because i didn't want serious relationships and he waited till i dated all those I wanted an so on. Hard but you get what you want finally. If you are sure she will never be with move on with your life and stop loving her. If you're the one, your paths will cross again (believe me). As for now, enjoy your life and GOOD luck!

Its difficult to get over someone you feel to marry. Your hopes and dreams are with that person. Best thing is to give yourself lots of space between female friendship if possible to
step back and meditate and appreciate yourself. The path ahead is always unknown.
Peace.

YES!! Let time heal everything and see what happens. Stay friends. Wait and see what happens and she'll probably change her mind or you'll find someone ready for commitment.

I think if you feel that strong about her then you shouldn't see her as a friend.
