A single drug is enough to manage all these problems. You have to take one drug from a class called SSRIs. They are:

citalopram (Celexa, Cipramil, Emocal, Sepram)
escitalopram oxalate (Lexapro, Cipralex, Esertia)
fluoxetine (Prozac, Fontex, Seromex, Seronil, Sarafem, Fluctin (EUR))
fluvoxamine maleate (Luvox, Faverin)
paroxetine (Paxil, Seroxat, Aropax, Deroxat)
sertraline (Zoloft, Lustral, Serlain)

All these drugs help manage Anxiety, Depression & OCD, though you need higher doses to manage OCD. These drugs take 3 - 12 weeks of treatment to show results. You have to start one drug and increase the dose gradually till you get enough response (or upto maximum recommended dosage of the drug).
The first SSRI you try may not work. In that case you have to try another one. When you chose an SSRI you have to consider many things. Sexual dysfunction is one of the most annoying side effect of SSRI treatment. If you are using an SSRI with a shorter half life you can take drug holidays and enjoy sex those days. Paroxetine and Fluvoxamine are short acting. Some people often forget to take meds. They need an SSRI with a longer half life like Fluoxetine. SSRIs cause weight gain. If you are taking other medicines for other conditions you may select escitalopram, it has less drug interactions.
Consult a Clinical Psychiatrist and talk to him, he will help you select the right drug.

Be confident and start the treatment. Your situation may slightly worsen in the first 2 - 3 weeks of treatment. The side effects will gradually disappear and you will be 100% okay after 3 months.

I feel the same way too. I've been on and off depression since I was nine years old. When I was a teenager I committed suicide several times, but miraculously survived. Sometimes I even feel like it's a gigantic effort just to stay alive. Up to now I have fall into those spells but I, myself, am able to control my self...and I can't afford to go to the doctor.

But you know, there's a good substitute for pills: chocolates and vitamins. They have components that are present in anti-depressants.

I am not taking anything at the moment but I have done several times in the past when my depression became too much to bear. Medication will not solve your problems but it should help you to feel a lot better so that you can find out what is causing your problems and then deal with it. I hope you will soon feel better.

I was able to overcome depression with drug therapy. I went to my family doctor. I did not have to see a mental health therapist. Many times a doctor will send you for a one-time consultation with a mental health professional to get assistance with medication. If this is just "short term" depression, you may be OK with just medication.

You should not go to therapy JUST to get drugs. With true clinical depression, you need a combo of both.

Go see a shrink. An MD that specializes in this stuff. Getting the drugs wasn't hard. Making the decision to go was.

It's no big thing, really. Therapy goes hand in hand with meds. It's a good combo. Good luck

You can't know WHAT will keep you sane until you are properly diagnosed by a competent psychiatrist; go see one at your first opportunity!
