Evolutionarily speaking, women have been responsible for caring for and communicating with a tiny person who is incapable of speaking or articulating. Successful Mothers are ones who were able to "read" their children and provide for them as their needs arose. That's why women (as a whole, by no means does this exclude all men, nor include all women) are better able to "read between the lines" when it comes to interpersonal communication.
Also, caring for children is serious commitment of time, resources, and energy. So, again evolutionarily speaking, it is imperative for an infant to develop a strong emotional bond with it's caregiver-- to make the task of raising a child worth their while.

Probably because the child grew inside the mother therefore sharing alot of emotions and such with her. Cant really get more of a bonding expirience than that.
And as for adoptive parents ..Women seem to have the "mothering" gene, wether or not they realise it. Its there stronger in some women than others...and children tend to pick up this vibration therefore seemingly "favoring" the mother.
But like I said before.. the child grew inside of you for like 9 months its natural to be close and attached to them.

Because we bond with them as soon as they are born, plus a mothers instincts are usually right, they also grow in us so we are aware of them from the very beginning, and feel the first movement, which is such a wonderful feeling

not all mums are, if this was the case, wouldn't there be less orphan's. some fathers can be just as close to their children too. with my children, if their asking for something (or not) they usually go to their father, but if they get hurt, are ill or got some other problem, they always come to me.

Because we are always their for them. We care for when sick, we breastfeed, we feed them dress them change them and yes men do this also but I think the usually see mommy doing most of the work and females just seem to be more nurturing than a man though a man can also be, but I think most women do most of all the child caring needs.
