It's not when you shave your underarm hair. I guess you're a guy, so that might apply to you, but I find that my pubic hair is thinner than my underarm hair (when it's growing back) because i shave it every couple of days.

Another wonderful engineering feat of the human anatomy in action. Pubic hair serves a purpose. Men and women have a direct route into their bodies for disease and infection to get into it. Coarser hair protects any openings. If you think about our hunter/gatherer ancestors sitting on the dirt with the prehistoric creepy crawlies that may have been living on and in the dirt, hair makes it more difficult to directly enter the body cavity. it has persisted down to us in the age of today.
Pretty ingenious, right?

It is because we shave our pubic hair more often than the armpit hair. I have discovered that the more you shave/cut any hair it grows back more thicker and more coarse. the other reason is that the armpit is ever covered even by the (pit) itself.

It's all about real estate. Maybe hair is more coarse down south to protect a more precious & important area. Not too many people conceive in their armpits! Tee hee
