I know everyone is different and not to be gross just curious but is a period with a heavy flow and clotty all the times normal. I can't even wear a tampoon because it's to heavy and clotty this has been going on for almost three years and I have had no bad effects from it but I have had three kids and the last child really did it to me. With heavy bleeding to not being able to loose weight even my hair has changed from fine and striaght to thick and semi curly even my skin has changed it's alot dryer and oily and I break out with acne more than ever.
I had two boys and my last was a girl.

It sounds like what you're describing is hemorrhaging. This isn't all that uncommon however, it could be the sign of a problem. Taking aspirin, Pamprin or Midol will effectively help with the heavy clotting as they are blood thinning agents. (Unfortunately it will also make you bleed a little heavier) Clotting is what causes the cramping so if that's a related problem, it might be worth it to you to try. It's preferable to see a doctor, but if you can't do it right now and this has been going on for so long without any complications I wouldn't be too frightened about it for the now and I'd see a doctor when I could. Good luck to you

You really do need to go and see your gynecologist asap. When is the last time you have had a pap smear, or hormone balance checked? This could be ovarian cyst. It is not cancer but it does affect the things you are talking about. Please go see your Dr. I had cyst and that is exactly what happen to me except the hair thing, mine just got dryer.
