I have heard that on the night of the wedding, most couples are too tired to make love. That honestly doesn't sound like the worst thing to me. For those who have been married or know about a friends wedding night nookie, are my sources correct? (Also, I am not a virgin--this isn't something I feel HAS to be done on this night if we're honestly too pooped.)

i've heard something along those lines too. basically the wedding is too exhausting for people to have sex afterwards. i also heard that waking up next to the person you're going to spend the rest of your life with and 'making love' is way better than doing it on the wedding night...

My husband and I went to a few of the parties fam and friends were having after the wedding and didn't get home until 5am. When we did, we were completely pooped and just went to sleep. Most of my friends had the same thing happen. In fact, the only couple I know who did have sex on their wedding day did it in the bathroom right after the ceremony. (Of course I'm only close with 5 or 6 married couples, but that's still only 20%). Anyway, you're right, it's pretty common.

Your source are correct. A wedding can tire a couple out, also it is very stressful. But wait until the next night!

Even if you are not too tired, the stress can get to you when it is all over and you get to let down! You might want to discuss it ahead of time with your future hubby just so you both have the same expectations. Not that you won't or can't have sex on your wedding night, just don't put too high of expectations on it.

On our wedding night, it took me so long to get all the hairpins out of my beautiful up-do, he was asleep by the time I'd finished! So if you want a good shag, go for a natural hairdo!

Even if you're pooped, I think that the inspiration level compensates. You might jinx yourself by not consummating the marriage, but the preference is up to each couple.

tiredness depends upon how many times the rounds were.
if they had only once there is tiredness.
it differs from one couple to another.
