a person trying to be abstinent or a person using contraceptives?
condoms can break but so can someones will (espicially a teenagers will).
you also have to take into acount that sex is more important in the hierarchy of needs than respect or self achievement.

Study after study has shown that most teenagers are not going to abstain from having sex. Since they are going to have sex we should teach them all the ways to keep them safe. Condoms are just one of many methods that should be used.

Respecting teenagers is the best way to get them to learn and with respect comes the concept that our youth are the ones who will re-populate this planet with our grandchildren and great grandchildren. I wear latex gloves at work that are far thicker than that of condoms and they break often. I would NOT put my life on the line with these things. But then again I would not sleep with anyone other than my husband.
