It seems to me that if Jesus could perform miracles such as the bible claims, he would have done better to keep himself alive, rather then allow himself to be crucified and waste all that talent. He could've cleansed sinners while being alive, and continued healing. Nobody would ever have to be sick, because Jesus could heal them. Anybody who died could be brought back to life, like Lazarus. Everyone could be forever healthy and live forever. Wouldn't that have been more practical? Of course, that would keep Jesus busy around the clock, but God could create several versions of Jesus. By staying alive, Jesus would have acquired a lot more credibility. After all, seeing is believing. And I don't think other religions could top that, so they would eventually fall by the wayside, and Christianity would stand alone. Bingo ~ no more Holy Wars. No Crusades, no Charlemagne, no need for Oral Roberts, Ernest Angley, Jimmy Swaggert, or any other phoney baloney faith healers. What do you think?

Thank you Bethany. You've helped make my point. If Jesus were alive and able to keep everyone healthy and alive, he would be morally obligated to do so. Not a very practical idea is it?

JudasRabb: Sure, it's in the right category. I'm taking both a poll and a survey. EVERY question fits this category. I also asked this question in Religion and Spirituality, if that's what you mean. And you responded there as well. Thanks for that.

JasP: Thank you for your most eloquent response, which I happen to disagree with. But you didn't answer my question.

Well, first off ... the Bible is full of faulty logic if you bother to do some serious research or take a few course taught by doctors in that field.

Second, any and all religions are nothing without blind faith. Because in every religion there comes a point where logic stops and a leap of faith begins. Some people just choose to draw that line a bit closer than they should.

And with that thought I have the perfect all knowing ever encompassing Christian answer for you:

God works in mysterious ways.

Or ... if you do not like that one...

God meant it to be.

(That stuff cracks me up .. good luck on your search for answers)

that's nearly impossible no matter how you choose to look at it. Circle of life, for every person that dies there's already another person born AND don't you think this world is populated enough we don't need anymore violence, crime or terrorism we got enough. Having people live forever would just have crowded streets and nothing new would be developed because for every person there is an idea without a new beginning there would be no technology for the computer your sitting on. It just wouldn't work and I don't believe society would be happy at all. If anything we would be bored!

Jesus did not stay dead for long. Early Sunday morning, near sunrise, some disciples discovered that the Son had risen. They did not see the resurrection itself, but they saw Jesus, alive and well. Over a period of 40 days, they saw Jesus on numerous occasions. Then he rose into heaven.

But Jesus is not taking a vacation. His ministry continues, even in heaven. He serves and leads the church, interceding for us, helping us, preparing us for eternal glory. Christ will return, and after he has subdued every enemy, he will give everything to the Father. Mission accomplished.

"seeing is believing"- you said and I quote. But faith by biblical definition is the "substance of things hoped for" and "the evidence of things not seen." (Hebrews 11:1) In other words its believing without seeing. and John 3:16 says that "God so loved the world that he gave his only son so that whoever believes in him will not perish but have everlasting life." The thing is, Jesus was a gift from God the father...the perfect, blemish free, flawless sacrifice to cleanse the rest of humanity from sin. He gave his life in love for us so that all we need in order to have a relationship with God is Christ Jesus. Back then they had to sacrifice animals on a daily basis just to cover their sins. Since the cross, accepting Jesus e r a s e s our sins and allows for a relationship with God. He didn't come to earth to become famous...and when he left he charged the disciples with the task of healing the sick and spreading the gospel. All miracles didn't cease when Jesus went to heaven. and although there are phoney baloney people out there in it for personal gain...God is still working miracles and healing people...the Bible isn't just chronicles of the olden days. It is also a guide for modern day christians...telling of the power that still exists through Christ Jesus to heal, raise people from the dead, and save our souls..

and we c a n live forever...the promise for those who accept Jesus into their hearts is eternal life in Heaven with the father...free from pain, sadness, lonliness, anxiety and the like.

maybe you should try him.. The bible promises that those who hunger and thirst after righteousness will be filled (matt 5:6) and that we will be satisfied with the goodness of his house (psalms 65:4) That means we wont be dissappointed by God's mercy, or grace or love or justice...God will honor our faith.
