how many believers do you think will not respect the fact that i am asking for responces from you only?
and fdr the record i always respect a request by a poster when they ask for answers from a certain group only.
and now for the main question.
if given the oppurtunity to leave this planet and colonize another world for atheist only, would you go, even if i was going to be the first president of this new world?
even though i can't spell?

to sandy. the question you are refering to read " do christians find" not christians do you find. to me this difference implies a question about christians not a question for christians. but please feel free to look back through all of my answers and see if i have ever answered a question that said christians or any other theist only please question.

That is a tough choice. I do value some theists. It is the fundamental theists that wish to prohibit science and human rights that I do not like. If such theists were a dominate presence on Earth then yes I would leave this planet for the other world. The main worry I have is that the world would be restricted to atheists only... this would mean there is restriction on freedom.. I would only take it in the scenario as I have listed above.
If you were the president.. well that is an entirely different matter.. I don't know your qualifications, nor do I know your agenda.. that could make things a lot different.

For all practical purposes, I find strongly held political beliefs to be indistinguishable from religious beliefs. Even if everyone on the new planet believed there was no god, I can guarantee there'd be no shortage of fanatics who believe in something-or-other without evidence, and who'd want to impose their views on the rest of us.
I'd probably stick to this planet. I seem to manage just fine here. Sure, there are annoyances, but I can guarantee that the new planet would be no utopia either, no matter how careful you are in selecting the new settlers. Indeed, the more carefully you select them to fit a particular image, the surer it is that your goal will elude you.
In any case, I get along fine with most theists. It's just the rabid fundies that creep me out.

Ok I'm breaking the asked for population (I'm Agnostic but usually answer atheist questions as most are more applicable to me).
Would you consider taking Agnostics in your new world. I don't preach, don't think worship and since I don't believe any answers will be available til after death I don't worry about deities in life. I'd love to live on a planet where religion is a non-issue.
Yeah I wouldn't mind having an atheist run things.. heck I'd vote for one now if they were the most politically skilled.

You won't be president unless you're elected to be. You see I'm a very democratic and republican (in the 'good' sense of the world) kind of unbeliever. :-)
But I'm afraid that if there was a chance to colonise a whole new planet, Christians wouldn't give it to us, would they?
Oh, and I guess some of the Christians out there may have been too curious about what was it that you wanted only atheists to answer about. I think we're presently being read by some of them.

Not for the reason that they are atheist. many atheist seem to believe what christians would have them believe and that is that atheism teaches imorality.
And thats simply not true. many atheist are just as bad and ignorant as many christians. i would prefer some deist than some atheist. There are some christians I would prefer than some atheist. Preferebly the christians who dont really beleive the bible to be the word of God.
Above all it would be much better if the people were reasonable, logical, scientific somewhat (Even if wrong), rational human beings. They wouldnt have to have anything or everything the same as me. Just these things would be best

You posted this yesterday in response to a question: "my apologies for answering this question which is not directed to me or my beliefs, however i find it to be an intriguing question. as an atheist, i find both beauty and truth behind the ideals of these traditions. i find it sad that so many do not apply these ideals to their everyday lives."
Do you wish to revise the above statement, then? The one that says "i always respect a request by a poster when they ask for answers from a certain groups only."
I personally have no problem with an atheist answering questions directed to Christians. I normally do not post a response to questions that are directed to a group to which I do not belong. This one, however, I am responding to, because something you said in it was untrue--and it was said so as to erroneously set you apart from people who you disrespected by prejudging them.

Breaking in a new planet? I require seedy bars and crazy women with peculiar talents, and abundances of alcohol. If you have these and don't make me work too much, I'll go. How much does it pay?

Can't we just bug them into finding another planet? Someone who believes we only have here and now has to stay and try to fix this place. They sure aren't going to do it if they think there is better after this life anyhow. lol
