On the contrary I think you should be grateful to all those people for they showed their true self. Of course, it hurts when people take undue advantage but at the same time positive thinking would suggest that this one act of theirs has amply displayed that they are not worth to be interacted with ever again. I think its a little price paid for a bigger lesson learnt.

Oh, that is so not nice of your oldest daughter to put you and your youngest daughter in this situation. I feel bad for your youngest daughter, and I guess it is because my oldest daughter who is really beautiful, use to steal her younger sister's boyfriends. My youngest daughter is beautiful inside, my oldest was not. I sat down with my oldest daughter and set things straight. I told her how I felt and then all three of us talked. We finally got it resolved. Could you talk to your oldest daughter about this, with love and firmness? That was really disrespectful. Love that youngest daughter bunches and bunches as when a sibling hurts them, one that they look up to, it REALLY HURTS. I am so sorry.

i guess its a matter of conditioning your mind. the situation may lead to cause anger, but think where it will lead you after wards. yes its veru frustrating when you wanted to be friendly and yet the result is unsatisfactory. were human we do feel that. its normal.. but let not our emotion carried us so much that it may cause another problem

I would not have a baby shower for anyone if I just moved to a new city and didn't know anyone. Live and learn.

Your daughter did what you wanted, and invited her friends. She can't control their actions, she did what you wanted. You can't be mad at your daughter. If anything be mad at yourself for telling her to bring them, she couldn't have known they were bringing their children.

I'd be pretty upset. But there isn't much you can do, just don't invite them over again.
