The Bible says everthing is a sin
you may have sinned by being on the Internet

be true to your self that is all that matterers
if you want to sin by telling fortunes go for it
a lot of people kill people an that has got to be bad/ sin
the Bible is a story that is suppose to predict the future
and if they is some other book that challenges it heaven forbid
look back before the bible was written there where many gods

The Bible forbids it because only God knows the future, not anyone else, nor from looking at moon and stars.
Yes, Christians should not read horoscopes. I don't, so why do you call me a hypocrite?
AND, the Bible is written by the Holy Spirit through the prophets and apostles, so, yes you are right, it has many episodes of informing (not predicting) us of the future because it is the Word of God, and God knows what is going to happen. He created the universe!

AveGirl,
"Why does the bible condemn fortune telling?"
Because God wants trust. Fortune Tellers are confused into thinking that they get their answers from divining them, or from spirits. God didn't give spirits to divine things. The spirits that would do things like that are working against humans, to spread confusion. It's not His will, and when things go wrong, whose the first that gets the blame? God!
Mortals!
"Why does the bible condemn fortune telling when it has MANY episodes of predicting the future?"
Because He won't lie about it.
"And why do Christians read horoscopes?"
Because they are free from the ravages of sin, if they are really Christian. They may have sinned by doing so, but our sins are covered by the blood of the Lamb of God!
"YOU are sinning! You are not allowed to try to predict the future in any way. So don't be a hypocrite."
Guilty of all charges. Though I don't even read fortune cookies unless someone asks me to read theirs, and I never claimed NOT to be a hypocrite. But I am nonetheless saved by Grace through faith, in Jesus name.
I hope that made a few things clear to you. You already know that Christians are sinners. It's the ones that say that others are sinners that gets you mad, right? Well, I'm a Christian male, who's Bi-sexual, but I can still trust God for His promises. God knows that He can't get perfection out of me, but He want's trust. So I trust Him.
That's Christianity anyway!

It condemns it because naturally, we are not supposed to know the future. If you knew when you were gonna die how would you respond?
And many of us do sin on a regular basis including consulting with fortune tellers and horoscopes. Hypocrisy claims everyone sometimes, my dear. And the last few books in the Bible explaining the end times is a prophecy that God was so generous to warn us of. That is the only future we are allowed to know.

I am not sure about the Bibe and Christianity but we have the same case as Muslims. Fortune telling is against the firm belief that Allah is the omnipotent and the One who Knows it all. Prediction in the Quran is Allah telling us what will happen which He definitely knows.
The predictions Prophet Muhammad gave us about the future are revelations from Allah and many of them had happened and we know they are true and we believe them.
A Muslim is forbidden from visiting fortune tellers and if they do, their prayers are not accepted for 40 days. This is if it is just a visit. Moreover, if they visit them and believe what they claim to forsee, this is equivelant to disbelieving.
We should not read horoscopes either.
But you know, many people do. There are so many things in life we know we should not do but we still do!

the bible condemns false prophets.......how do you know if the fortune teller is one of Gods people or a false prophet. Do you aim to know our Lords mind? I do believe we are directed to not allow them to rule our lives, personally I think its more interesting if you read then after the fact.....kind of interesting to see if they were on target of totally off base. We're not to worship them, we're to worship the Lord.
Where is the sin in reading a horoscope? Is it a sin to read anything other than the bible?
Is it predicting the future if the lord shows you something in a dream?
Are you a sinless creature yourself? Look at you judging others for what you percieve to be a sin, careful how you judge lest you be judged. Talk about a hypocrite!

You are absolutely right.
The Bible condemns all forms of divination and spiritism.
However, many Christians feel that horoscopes are harmless fun.And yes, they are being hypocrites.
1Cor.1:21 warns Christians that "You cannot be drinking the cup of Jehovah and the cup of demons;you cannot be partaking of the table of Jehovah and the table of demons."
So we are either on God's side, doing what he requirs of us or we are on Satans side doing what displeases Jehovah.
Acts 16:16-24 gives the account of a young girl that was able to predict the future, until Paul cast the demon out of her and she was no longer able to perform this function.
Our heavenly Father condems all forms of spiritism because he knows that the demons are behind it all,and he wants to protect us and shield us from danger.

There are in our world folks that live on it that have a totao death rate, now that means everyone on earth is walking around in there own grave right now, and there is ONLY ONE WAY out of this world, the powers that have to do with this fortune telling is NOT of God so it is of satan, GOD AND GOD ALONE knows the future, and it is HE that tells us the future because WITHOUT HIM YOU HAVE "NO" FUTURE AT ALL, you see God does know the future but satan only guesses.
