you cant expect the cat not to defend itself, its an animal you need to teach the kid not to treat animals in this matter, what if you had a DOG it would bit the kid and that would hurt whoop the kid and tell her if she cant respect your cat then she cant play with it.... i have a 5 and 6 year old and the neighbor has a 5 year old and they know if they treated my cats like that i would whoop them and mine would be grounded fro a long time... if you dont teach that child to respect animals your ganna get her hurt or killed by a retaliating animal... keep that in mind when she screams and throws stuff at your cat

Your cat is mean around your girlfriend and her daughter because the child is mean to the cat, she is defending her territory which is a NORMAL cat behaviour.
Cats can sense when people don't like them, so they will do anything that they can to annoy that person. Take notice of your cat as she is very intuitive and wise, if the cat was there first I would choose the cat over a person.
Good Luck

First I'd tell the g/f to discipline her kid and tell her to stop torturing the poor cat. That's why it doesn't like them. Assuming she isn't living with you, maybe try locking the cat in a bedroom or something comfortable while they're over, until the kid is old enough to understand not to be mean. But really, if she's giving you an ultimatum like that, I'd be doing some serious thinking if she's even worth it.........

You can't force your cat to be nice to someone who terrorizes her. If you love your cat point out that your gf's daughter should be taught how to act around animals. That may help fix the problem.

Get rid of the girlfriend, if your cat isn't happy with her, you won't be happy with her, and for the same reasons. I always let my cats choose my boyfriends and I was never disappointed. If they didn't like cats, they were history.

Get rid of the gf. Your cat will be there with you until it dies. Your gf could leave you the moment you get rid of the cat. Animals are loyal, people aren't.

actually...it's a known fact if your animals don't care for someone..then theres usually something wrong with them....and it's a caution to stay away from that person.
Always listen to your kitty, it means she has a sixth sense about your gf and/or little girl.
I say..get a new gf.
kitty actually probably won't ever be nice to them.
