Must be a better way to dispose of supermarket plastic bags. That alone is doing a lot of damage to the environment.

All those plastic trash bins that clutter the streets are another nuisance.

If people could find more efficient ways in which to dispose of trash, and then recycle all their wastes, then maybe we'd have a better planet for it.

This requires the concerted effort of everyone.

I doubt it can be achieved. Everybody seems either lazy or in a stupor. They care more about their immediate needs than the long range implications.

You would be amazed at the amount of everyday items that are made of plastic. Plastic is not just for pop bottles, food wrappers or whatever else. Polar fleece is made of recycled pop bottles for example. Our lives would be drastically altered if plastic had not been invented. Think about those nice polyester suits the guys wore in the 60's and 70's. loll.=)

Turn in your computer at the nearest Plastic Elimination Center.
good or bad?
How about studying Chemical Engineering to learn how to recycle the plastics we discard. Leave our forests alone. They are already shrinking too rapidly.

I don't think eliminating plastics on earth would be good eventhough plastics have negative impact. we use plastics for special purposes which wood cannot be use as a substitute. for me, plastic and wood must go hand in hand only that we have to use plastics in a proper way.

Plastic is here to stay.
The solution is recycling and using it on our roads, this is being one at Bangalore by trail and we find it better than conventional road making by use of only Tar which has a life of only 3 years against the trail use which has 10 years life.

Plastic ! Like it or not, we need it, many plastic things save our lives every day, like seat belts, radar components, electronic sensors that detect malfunctions, medical equipment, etc.
