He wants to protect himself when having dinner or watching tv, Is there a company that manufactures bullet proof glass stands that you can move around the house that will shield incoming bullets? He doesnt want to replace the windows in his house.

For the do-it-yourselfer, a combination of plexiglass and plywood in layers should stop or at least deflect and/or change the trajectory of any incoming rounds. It will at least give him a chance to hit the deck.

It won't be cheap, as Plexiglass is very expensive. It would be cheaper to move.

Replacing the windows would surely be cheaper than any sort of "portable bulletproof device".

Or you could try corrugated tin, like the stuff you use on a barn.

Not a great look, but will stop your average ghetto bullet.

1st thing .. move!

IF you want to stay in such a place where bullets may fly through walls. You can get bullet proof windows.. replace with very think plexiglass. You can tear openteh walls and spray in a certain compound that will stop bullets. Can also improve lock on all door and windows.

But really .. move. Rent it out till you can sell it. If you rent... rent month to month .. that way easier to evict.
