Hello;
Well, I was tired of those phone companies too, untill I did something about it.
I don't know if u want to have a regular home phone service but I would recommend to trying to use the new Yahoo messenger with voice. With this messenger u can make PC to PC calls and also if u sign up for the Phone Out and Phone In, is something like that, u can make regular phone calls like u were using ur regular phone and get a regular phone number too.
But u have to download it from the Internet and install it in ur computer. I'm using it and its very good so far.
Good luck,
Laters!

Landline phone companies do not consider residential customers as valuable any longer. They want to go for the big corporations as their customers of choice.

no, I had Bell South and ATT for many years, and they all sucked...just to much money to pay...so I got Broadband VoIP last year and love it!! I only pay 19.99 a month with so many good features..I will never go back to a landline...I got Packet8...got 2 free phones, free activation, and 30 days free...and free softfone too..
