In my opinion, the rigid structure of religion is becoming stiflingly worse. With politics crawling with religious folk and our personal freedoms being whittled away, we are frightening close to becoming a theocracy.

For awhile it was but now it is beoming more rigid again at least while people are in the church to listen to a sermon and judge its worth. outside the view may swing either way as people think about it hopefully.

Yes. In some churches, the Law of the Lord is sugar-coated to make it more pallatable for those who really don't want to follow it, yet want the rewards of being a Christian.
For instance: It's OK to lie as long as you've got a good enough reason. It's OK to cheat on your spouse if you're not satisfied at home. If you spank your children, you're stunting their self-esteem.
The problem with this whole idea is that God sees intentions like no man can...

study historic previous, no longer the bible, and by no skill the historic previous in accordance to the bible. at the same time as and the position you'll locate historic reality, study it. in case you care about religions, study all of them, a minimum of the significant ones. locate out for your self *from Jewish elements* why Judaism does no longer settle for Jesus as an equivalent to "God." locate the techniques to happiness in Buddhism and why Buddhism is tolerant of all faiths. study up on each and each of the "christs" that were written about throughout the time of historic previous in different cultures, initiating with the Egyptian deity Osiris. yet what you truthfully choose isn't a artifical (or guy-revised) faith to get you through "hard circumstances" - what you want is to get in contact consisting of your own inner elements of power. of route the bible is revised, edited, deleted, rewritten, mistranslated, and so on., and so on. anybody with a questioning mind is common with that a lot. And on your coronary heart you keep in mind that "God" would not talk in this variety of primitive, unclear and evidently stupid way. If there's a "God," you'll locate him in rational questioning, hassle-free experience, love, kindness, and maximum seriously, interior your self.

Among many people, yes, definitely. There are Christians who check their horoscope and believe in a Divine Feminine, eclectic Pagans, etc.

Sad isn't it? But truly believers aren't as vocal as the unbelievers. God will pour out His Spirit in the last days.....I can't wait, can you? I think it is building and getting ready to break forth.
