You have to ask yourself: Should the US be the world police? Or should we be isolationists? Should we take out evil leaders? Or should we ignore them until it affects our families, our land, our borders?

We've already put ourselves in a difficult position due to our heavy reliance on middle eastern oil. So again, we have to ask ourselves: Are we willing to sever our connection with OPEC and come up with alternate sources of fuel? Or do we continue to do business with evil governments to enjoy our lifestyle.

It's stupid to blame Bush for this mess. It's all a big convoluted mess and we as Americans are somewhat to blame.

Having said that, my personal view is that Bin Laden must die. He crossed the line. We should spare no expense in frying his sorry a**.

Saddam Hussein should be tried by the Iraquis as a mass murderer. Hopefully he will be found guilty and lose his head or be shot, or better yet, some form of torture.

Hussein was the despotic leader of a country and is being tried because the U.S. likes to use law enforcement consequences in place of war tactics. (Nuremburg started that trend.) Bin Laden is more the leader of a quasi-military, rather than a criminal who outhg to be brought to justice. If he was a criminal, why do millions of the world's Muslims rever him? They do so, because he stands up to the power hungry U.S. I don't approve of his tactics, but I understand why some Muslims hate our guts. Just read some international press or communicate with people outside of the U.S. for a variety of viewpoints and you will see that the American government is despised. But that's nothing new.

To survive, Americans are going to have stop being so ego-centric in their political thinking.

Political Propaganda

WAR is a racket. It always has been.
It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives. Only a small "inside" group knows what it is about. It is conducted for the benefit of the very few, at the expense of the very many. Out of war a few people make huge fortunes.

Bin Laden directly attacked us (i.e. 9/11, USS Cole, Africa bombings) so we are justified in going after him and his organization.

The problem I have with our having gone after Saddam hearkens back to my days in the Navy in 1985. Back then, one of his planes put two Exocet missiles into the USS Stark killing many sailors. We accepted that it was "an accident" and did nothing because he was fighting our proxy war against Iran. Then, the first Gulf War, we still didn't bother to take him out. After that war, he used WMD's against the Kurds and we did nothing. Now, suddenly he became this big threat? Meanwhile, you have someone far worse named Kim Jong-il in North Korea who makes no bones about enriching uranium. We sit down and actually talk to this guy who's worse than Hitler and Stalin put together by killing thousands of his his own people by torture, starvation, and labor camps. That makes us hypocrites! If we can justify going after Saddam, then we need to take out Kim Jong-il too!

Saddam should be held responsible for the crimes he committed against the Kurds and Iraqi people whom he oppressed. Bin Laden should be arrested to be held liable for the violence he orchestrated and financed such as 9/11.
