The dog had injection at the vets one week ago so all the ticks on him and what goes on him for next 2 months will die. None on him now. I have sprayed house (surface spray from shop) and vacumed all visible tick inside. Squashed all visible ticks outside but every day i kill at least 10 ticks walking on floor. help. Is there any solution apart from taking my glasses off and not seeing ticks. I am not the dogs owner he doesnt care about so i have to do something about it. Killa the rottwierler and me will be grateful for anyhelp.

Let me just tell you, that I had the WORST tick infestation in all of america about 2 years ago up in east texas. We tried EVERYTHING!! but even after, pesticides, preventatives, repellants, mowing, and even chickens to eat the ticks, (consequently the ticks ate the chickens, they died) we finally mowed the grass to a medium height, and burned, yes that's right burned (controlled mind you with water hoses in hand) the grass sourrounding our house and barn. THEN we sprayd the remaining burnt grass and (further out) live grass with pesticide. We haven't seen a single tick since. but to give you and idea of what we started out with... our unstained natural wood shed was literally black with ticks, all the way to the roof. the grass was so covered with them that they would LEAP off the grass towards any movement and the grass blades bent down with the wieght of them. it was DISGUSTING. We didn't just let it get that way though; no one had been living there for a couple of years and some strays took up residence in our old dog runs and dog houses. When we moved back, OH MY GOSH!! Good luck, and don't burn the house down, if you decide you MUST burn the grass, then pls. call the fire dpt. for assistance first. Also, flea and tick bomb the house, bathe the dog all on the same day that you burn or spray the yard. P.S. Frontline kills ticks better than fleas, and Advantage kills fleas better than ticks.

It sounds like every room will have to be flea/tick bombed. You can buy these in supermarkets or pet stores. You will have to leave the premises for at least 24 hours...but it should kill all the live fleas/ticks and maybe their eggs. Also, ask the vet what he/she thinks.

Simple answer...works for fleas so it has to work for ticks...Fleas are way harder to kill. Hartz makes a flea/tick killer in a spray bottle for about 7-8 dollars a bottle and it is awesome! The bottle is gray I beleive and I can't remember what is is called exactly but it works, and it is specifiacally for homes....If it doesn't work you need to get the rotwiller adopted out because nothing else short of burning the house to the ground will.

You can purchase a 'bomb' that you can set off, one for every room. Very effective. Need to close all cabinet doors and no plants, animals or humans in house while bombing.
