No, you misunderstood it.
Al-Fatiha means "The Opening" or "The Opener". It's the first Sura (Chapter) in the Qur'an.
The verses are what believers would say. This Sura is actually read in every "rak3a" of every prayer, every day. It's the most commonly read Sura in the Qur'an.
It's similar to the Christian prayer "Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed (Holy) be Thy Name..."

Suratul Fathiha is the prayer that a believer is to pray in all his prayers. It is different from rest of the Quran since it is worded from a believer's point of view. So in the Quran you can see Fathiha separately mentioned
"And We have bestowed upon you the Seven Oft-repeated (verses) and the Grand Qur'an. " Quran 15: 87.
Here Seven Oft-repeated is understood to be Fathiha.
So you may ask according to above verse is Fathiha part of Quran or not. Yes it is, because for example if someone say "Prophet and believers came", it doesn't mean Prophet is not a believer. But prophet is not exactly like all believers. In the same way Fathiha though part of Quran, it is different from other Suras, since it is from a believers point of view.

In Sura AL Fatiha, verse 5 God said:
"Thee (alone) we worship; Thee (alone) we ask for help"
Meaning: We pray to your only the One Almighty God, worship only you only and do not look for help from somebody else ( saints, prophets, stones, idols, crosses, Mary, Paul, Jesus, neighbours etc).
I did not get you what is not clear here?

According to a book I've read,This is what Moses say and it is played back by Surah Fatihah. The Quran just want us to learn from the history of the prophets to prevent history repeat itself. This is a prayer taught by Allah because we Muslim are obliged to read this sura in every rakaat of our prayer.Just the same of verses that say"Oh our lord, give us the best in earth, and the best in Hereafter and prevent us from the fire of hell."Wallahualam.

It is a prayer from Muslims to God, the central part of our 5 daily prayers. Just like God revealed to Muhammad certain prayers that Muslims can recite in certain situations (from sunnah, not the Qur'an), al-Fatiha is meant to be recited as a prayer from "people".
