Bluffmike, does that mean you cannot or will not answer the question?

It seems to be a neutral question ...

My arrogance is irrelevant to the question or answer.

Deazone, atheists do not believe a Supreme Being exists. You completely mischaracterize atheism.

Atheists can most certainly be spiritual and believe many "supernatural" things. The only thing we don't believe is that a Supreme Being exists.

We are all ignorant in one way or another when it comes to understanding all of existence and how it came about.

Agnostics openly admit their ignorance, thus showing no arrogance as they await further analysis and evidences.

Theists will believe in the supernatural with no proofs, and state that all is known through their religion (their God is responsible for everything)this is arrogance.

Atheists will not believe in supernatural occurrences as there has been no evidence or proofs.. This is a logical assumption to make. We will often state we do not know everything, but the God's defined thus far are an impossibility, thus we do not believe.

I state all of the above to explain why I say religion is arrogant. The supernatural claims made by all of the religious texts have no evidence, nor proofs and defy all logic.. Yet theists will often bypass logic with fantasy.

EDIT::

Thank you for the correction JT.. ;) A little of my ignorance has just been revealed.

Hey JT! You're getting some real winners tonight!

I believe that god promoting religions, specifically xtianity, relies heavily on both. Ignorance of science is crucial. Ignorance of the goodness of anyone or anything outside of themselves is key. (Demonizing the enemy). Ignorance of choices. Ignorance of self. Ignorance of personal power and intergrity. Education plays a role in that it must fill the gap left by the "created" ignorance. They teach themselves that they are evil and weak and in need of the religious crutch and a benevolent/angry skydaddy. They educate the masses with false science and unsupported claims. They advocate that self and choice are unimportant.

It's both. They rely on many things, but maybe most importantly a weak constitution.

Early Christianity promoted ignorance, that way the people wouldn’t know any better. Today, some churches in there own still promote ignorance. But, I know my church promotes education on all sides and every aspect. This is to inspire and promote how God sent us everything we know. Not only for the fact that we are beings constantly learning, never ending.

Eduacation. Why? because education helps us learn about the things that God has created. Therefore, we see the great wonders in this world and think that "no one other than God could create this. It just isnt possible." You don't have to be ignorant to believe in God. =D

Ask a Christian why they're Christian and they say "because the Bible says to be" and "my family taught me" or "i turned to god one day and listened to the bible." Circular logic ties education to ignorance: it uses it to reach the most convenient conclusion. That's why it's so dangerous.
