The man is a complete moron. I searched for a deeper and loftier word, but no, it just comes down to moron.
On one note though, at least he admits it. He admits seeking to rid the world of any other belief system that isn't his, what a surprise. But a snake who admits he's a snake is still - yep, a snake.

For one I personally don't like Jerry Falwell and his teachings. Now it may sound extreme to have people take an intolerant view on certain things like evolution, since its still a theory and has yet to be proven. So like most things its a way to spend time while waiting for answers.
But for topics like same-sex marriage, it may sound politically incorrect, but its needed.
So many complain that religious people who are against homosexuals and their activies are intolerant and worse. But here's the catch - God declared homosexuality an abomination. Does that means God has been politically incorrect for the past 3,500 years? Does that mean that God is a homo-phobe?
No, it means that God is holy, He is good, and He is just.
Like I said, I don't agree with Falwell on most things, not do I like him much - but on this one topic, I can agree.
If God is intolerant of sin, why should we be?

If we don't stand up for the Bible and the Values God has set down than we are not very good Christians. God said we have to set our standards high. We can live in this world, but not be of the world. Most people don't read their Bibles to know the truth. If you truly believe in God, and believe the Bible you will stand up and say sin is sin. Not it's all right. Look at all the sex that is on TV and the swearing. It is because Christians didn't stand up and say this is wrong. We are all just desensitized now. Our Pastor challenged us to really Pray, Read our Bibles, and see what sin truly is. We all must stand before the Lord one day, and give an account for what we did or didn't do. What we believe and what we don't believe. What we watched, heard, or what came out of our mouths. People always condemn when they don't know the truth.

"True tolerance is not a total lack of judgment. It's knowing what should be tolerated--and refusing to tolerate that which shouldn't." Chuck Colson
Truth be told, everyone is intolerant toward somethings. Think about it, wouldn't you be intolerant to a dentist who just has a high school diploma? What if that dentist was gonna work on you?
As a Christian, there are certain things that we can tolerant, and some things we can't. same-sex marriage and perhaps evolution are some of those things. But at the same time, we can't just show alot of hatred and what not, it is in the matter of those issues that we need to be showing our love to our neighbors the most, and witness like there is no tomorrow, because if we truely love our neighbor as ourselves, then out of love we are gonna witness to them, otherwise we aren't even giving them a fighting chance out of hell.

Jerry Falwell needs to go back and re-read his Bible. He already has a lot to answer for on judgment day. He is one of the many televangelist that has forgotten the verse in the Bible that states that it Will be easier for a camel to walk through the eye of a needle than a rich man to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. And that sermon is complete and total crap, it goes against Christianity, it goes against what it says in the Bible. Jerry Falwell has definitely lost his way. But it's not for us to judge him, God will.

I have not had respect for Falwell in a long long time, if ever....I dont listen to him and pay him no heed...I feel a lot of times what he says is in compromise to the Word of God and give his teachings no place in my Christian walk......

If he is talking about intolerance of evil and things against God, then yes, he is correct. If he is talking about hate, then he is wrong.
Christians should never tolerate evil, but we must never be hateful of people. Like the old saying, "Love the sinner, but hate the sin." It is love that will covert people, even if it means tough love. Love that comes from a deep devotion to the Holy Spirit. It is the Spirit that converts, not us.

Christians are not required to be tolerant of evil, scandal, and corruption.
I'm not a big fan of Falwell, either, but it seems like he knows what he's talking about in this case.
