Diet is extremely important. To slim your body you must:
Burn more calories than you eat.
Cut your fat intake.
Eat three cups of fat free low cal yogurt a day (make sure it has live cultures in it) and pineapples. This helps you break down your food.
Do 45-60 min. of aerobic exercise a day (preferably before you eat in the morning). This will attack the fat.
Do 30 min of weight training three times a week. This will build lean muscle which will in turn burn fat.
I lost 40 lbs in two months and have kept it off for two more months doing this. I also took my body fat % from 30% to 14%

Eat only vegetables, fruit, and protein. No carbs. You can work those back in slowly after you hit your goal weight.
Exercise, exercise, Exercise. Lots of cardio. Make sure you do some weight training as well, since muscle burns fat faster.

1,200 calorie a day diet is good.
as for the exorcise, just do some running, and sit ups espically if you want to shrink your stomach. NEVER listen to anybody who tells you to do an all-liquid diet or something like that, the weight just jumps right back on and then some!

well this is working for me....i'm 175 pounds and 5'9.....i've gained weight since out of work. so i'm using my excersize bike for bout half hour.....sometimes not everyday...and i drink to slim fasts optimize...they control your hunger for four hours....in between the two slim fasts i eat one meal anything i wnat though. i hope this hleps ..i've been loosing about seven pounds a week....sometimes only four to six...and sometimes more than seven. lol
