i want to travel to saudia arabia to make umrah, they will not issue a woman of my age a visa without a mahram (a male that is traveling with you) I wanted to know if anyone knew if my 5 yr old son could be my mahram. If you are asking me to explain this question that means you probably don't have an answer.

Our prophet Mohammad peace be upon him said that a mahram should be with a woman who is intending to go to umrah or haj (travailing in general). You should ask a shaik for this but my advise is that you find an older mahram because you will need a man to help you there. good luck

You should ask a sheikh, or at least a reliable Islamic web site, but I am 90% sure that it's no. Children must reach the age of puberty before their religious actions are considered from their own initiative, rather than accredited to their parents. If you cannot find another male relative, I have heard that an older woman (i.e. after menopause) can act as a mahram, but double check on that.

no, a mahram is one who reached peoperdy, so your son isn't old enough, and god said to take a mahram with women so that men are stronger and they can take care of a woman during the travel, you know since she is going to a new place.

You would have to ask your Imam

This info is for the unknowledgable people.

The Umrah or (Arabic: عمرة ) is a pilgrimage to Mecca performed by Muslims that can be undertaken at any time of the year. It is sometimes called the 'minor pilgrimage' or 'lesser pilgrimage'

In Islamic sharia legal terminology, a mahram (Arabic محرم, also transcribed mahrim or maharem) is an unmarriageable kin with whom sexual intercourse would be considered incestuous, a punishable taboo

mutually because it quite is everyday for infants to deliver mutually issues, the varieties of issues he's gathering/hoarding and the secrecy he's employing are actually not. Autism became pronounced in the previous, yet autism is often clinically determined lots youthful than age 5. in spite of the undeniable fact that, your son's habit does sound like textbook hoarding habit of Obsessive Compulsive disease. OCD is portrayed as a disease that purely impacts adults yet in fact that a lot of human beings strengthen OCD in formative years. i might advise chatting with a expert in regards to the habit to be certain if it quite is the case or maybe despite if it quite is a factor, you may study some counsel on a thank you to look after it for now.

Pardon me for answering your question incompletely because I am a Christian but am very much interested in learning our relationships to a certain degree.

In my little knowledge about Sharia and the "umrah" or "haj" (Muslim pilgrimage), anybody (whom a woman or man is not allowed to get married to) from opposite sex that have reached puberty is considered mahram.

Since your son is only five years old, he cannot be your mahram.

There are many Muslims in this Yahoo! Answers. I hope they can help
