or what is it mainly used for? is it better than meperghan? i have kiney stones and i didn't know which worked better.

Yes, and yes it should be. It would be comparable to merepedine (Demerol).

Talwin is a narcotic. Actually, if a person is in the hospital, we give either morphine, Demerol or Dilaudid. The best person to tell if a pain medication works for them is the patient themselves. Are the Talwins helping and if so, how much?

Talwin has never helped my kidney stone pain. I've had 14 kidney stones and Mepergan has always been the gold standard for me, maybe Perocet if the stones were on the smaller side. Talwin is a joke.
