Like engineers using rapid prototyping technologies to quickly print a 3D designed part (using, say, stereolithography). Would be cool to have a whole region with its mountains in 3D laying on your desk :)

I seriously doubt that GoogleEarth imported prototype programming into its output. It basically uses the same technology as Flash. It's not really sending a 3d image. It's sending an extended 2d image which means it's got several flat layers that move at different speeds as you move across the landscape. But that would be incredible wouldn't it. First thing I'd print would be the Peak of the Himalayas

Yeah - it somewhat is kinda cool, i think of. I bear in mind when I first took an interest in desktops - I regarded up a chum's handle & homestead, revealed it off & confirmed it to her. She freaked out - had to understand the place & how I have been provided that, and so on. yet she somewhat freaked when I informed her all people ought to get admission to that information in the event that they knew the place to seem. the international-extensive-information superhighway - what a impressive element!! LOL
