For one thing, stop talking and start listening.

It's best to give him the space that he needs. Or, maybe he wants to talk to you, too, and just is nervous about keeping the conversation going. How old are you? If you're young in middle-school, they get nervous and don't think like females at that age. give him a couple of years but keep on showing your interest. girls have to be patient! :-)

you can't change him. Guys come ready made. Now if you have a relationship issue, then talk about it. But if he is a strong silent type, he needs to be accepted for who he is.

If he there are just certain things he won't talk about, then tell him, you want to hear about that part of him... But don't ask him to change.

have a few alcoholic drinks (if you're legal that is) and he will want to hear every word out of your mouth : )
the reason for this, is because he will be more relaxed~
alcohol does wonder--but drink responsibly!
but if you're not legal to drink--talk about it while you're in a jacuzzi or taking a hot bath : ) you wanna do it when he's relaxed~ not when he has 100 things on his mind.

make him enjoy talking to you by truly listening to what he has to say. this way you won't have to directly tell him you want to talk with him more.
